Workshop Title: Phonological Awareness: The First Step Every Reader Must Take

Workshop Description

Reading begins long before children sound out words on a page. It begins with phonological awareness, the ability to hear and work with sounds in spoken language. This skill forms the foundation for phonics, fluency, and confident reading.

In this live Reading Rx Parent Clinic workshop, you’ll learn what phonological awareness is, why it matters so much, and how it directly impacts your child’s ability to learn to read. You’ll also learn how to recognize whether your child’s foundation is strong and what you can do to support them.

This session is ideal for parents of Pre-K through 2nd grade students, as well as parents of older children who may be struggling with reading.
