About the Film
Films are a proven, effective way of sharing information. Reading Rx, in partnership with HealthPartners HMO of Minnesota, has produced a film entitled "Food for Thought".
This film is available on video and DVD in English and Spanish. The English videotapes are Close Captioned. The DVD includes English, Spanish, and Closed Captioning. This film (13 minutes in length) explains in a simple, clear way the importance of reading with a child. It discusses recent medical findings on the important relationship between brain development and reading. The film emphasizes family time, bonding and strengthening family relationships. It is being used by early childhood education groups, parenting groups, and educators around the United States.
