About the Program
Reading Rx partners with a wide variety of medical clinics throughout the state of Minnesota. Reading Rx provides each clinic site with:
- A kiosk containing information brochures and multicultural children's books
- Training for medical providers and other staff on brain development, family literacy, and the impact of media
- A supply of new, age-appropriate children's books to give away to children (whose families are asked to complete a "gold card" survey on the child's reading and media habits)
- Periodic site visits and communications to ensure that the clinic site has the necessary books, brochures, gold card surveys and training to maintain the program
